Scholten & Baijings

Stefan Scholten born in 1972 and Carole Baijings born in 1973 established Scholten & Baijings, Studio for Design, in 2000.

Stefan Scholten is a graduate of the Design Academy in Eindhoven, The Netherlands and Carole Baijings is autodidact in the design field.In their designs Scholten & Baijings make use of grids, light effects, color, transparency and layered patterns. In addition, minimal design and a keen eye for detail characterize their work. The duo has gained international recognition for their graphic designs using a combination of soft pastels and and bright flourescent colours. The topic of investigation for the Dutch design duo is usually the craft and tradition side of design and the goal being to use their personal skills to be expressive and creative in their work. By forming ideas and prototypes by hand new ideas develop which can be used for the final design - for this reason the computer in only rarely used in the beginning of the development of a new design – only in the final phases.
