Børge Mogensen[2]
Recognized as a major figure in 20th-century Danish design, Børge Mogensen (1914–1972) was known for his minimalist, high-quality furniture. Trained as a cabinetmaker before studying furniture design at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts, Mogensen later studied architecture at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. As design director at the Danish Co-Operative Society (FDB), he pioneered well-designed, functional furniture for mass production. HAY has reintroduced his classic J41 and J42 chairs from the J-Series he developed at FDB.
