Bruno Rey, born in 1933 in Brugg, Switzerland, began as a cabinetmaker before studying at the Zurich School of Applied Arts, where he was mentored by pioneering designer Willy Guhl. In 1968, he launched his own studio, developing an innovative chair design that entered mass production in 1971 under Dietiker in Stein am Rhein. Originally named the 3300, the chair later became known as Rey and became Switzerland’s most successful chair design. HAY, in collaboration with Dietiker, has revived the Rey Collection
